13 things to make you feel more Christmassy

To make sure even with COVID you can get all the Christmas vibes out there, I thought I put together a little list with things that help me get the Christmas spirit up and maybe they can help you find a great last minute gift for a loved one if still unsure what to get for them.

1. Blankets &Pillows All the blankets. Who doesn’t love a fluffy warm blanket with a Christmas motive on them. Honestly I have so many blankets and I can’t get enough of them.

2. Fairy lights. Not just to put on trees, but I do have fairy lights all around my room and my bed as well. Gives it such a nice atmosphere and I do think that it’s nice to show some Christmas spirit on the outside of the house. I have a reindeer light in my window so I can have it inside and just turn it on once I open the blinds.

3. Christmas Bedding. Some might think it’s too much, but let’s be honest having bedding that’s got little Christmas trees on it or reindeer. I mean I am absolutely excited as this year is the first time I bought myself holiday bedding and loving it!

4. Candles. Candles are always the one. Of course if you live somewhere, where it isn’t allowed you can always find cute battery powered ones although they for sure do not smell as nice! Us having a fake tree, I like to put on candles to still get a similar smell to a real tree and just makes the whole atmosphere more cute!

5. Fluffy Socks. I personally cannot get enough fluffy socks! I wear them all the time! And love getting them! Hobestly some funky socks or christmassy fluffy I am always up for socks as a present!

6. Hot chocolate. This might be no surprise, but hot chocolate with marshmellows or adding a little coffee to make it a Mocha, is just a prefect holiday drink to get your Christmas on! Andother present idea could be the freshly prepared chocolates on a wooden spoon with added things like coconut or some with a little alcohol. (I personally love the ones from Chocolate House in Luxembourg City!) I can always do a with a hot chocolate! And don’t forget a lactose free version can taste just as good!

7. Ugly Christmas Jumpers. If you don’t have one yet, it is defintely time to get one! If you got a snowman on your jumper or ‘Merry Christmas you filthy animal’ It doesn’t matter they are cheerful and defintely keep you warm, so why not invest in one?

8. Matching Christmas Pjs. Something I have always hoped for to be honest with my boyfriend. I just think it’s a funny tradition I see a lot in the UK and would love to have a matching one with him for jokes and fun! Why not gets each other Pjs instead if present!

9. Writing Christmas cards. Might be a bit late for that, but even just bringing them quickly to close friends and putting them into the letterbox or by the present can be something really nice and personal. For a longer distance a self made or writen, scaned in version can also still feel very personal by email or message. Being thought of in general is just a nice feeling, so especially this time if year with the current situation, everyone could use a little love.

10. Mulled Wine. I mean this year there’s isn’t any Christmas markets, so mulled wine is a must to do at home. We currently use the Alnatura Glühwein, which you just add to a pot, heat it up with some orange slices in it and voila a great mulled wine done within minutes at home!

11. Cookies. You didn’t think I’d forget Christmas cookies, did you? Baking might be the same amount of fun and christmassy then actually eating the cookies afterwards! I thought I’d give you here a little receipt on my traditional cookies me make at home: (coming)

12. Christmas Films. I mean there is soooo many! I personally would recommend Klaus and Arthur Christmas! I know there is the classics like: The Grinch, Elf, Love Actually and Home Alone ( tbh I don’t really like any of them…) I personally love typical romance Christmas movies and some that just involve Santa Claus.

13. Family. This year we can’t all be together, but to try and make it somehow special, we turn our Zoom Call into a Quiz! And everyone plays along, so at least we have some quality family together and have some fun!
